For centuries, electricity has captivated inventors, scientists and artists alike, and Electricity: The Spark of Life at the Wellcome Collection looked to trace the story of this invisible force which has transformed our modern world.
We worked in collaboration with the curators, exhibition architects Nissen Richards and lighting consultants Arup to develop a visual identity for the exhibition and designed all associated materials including captions, text panels, window graphics and exhibition signage.
For the main entrance we devised a three-frame sign which was produced in etched acrylic. This used LEDs to simulate the sparking of electricity. Electricity was also visualised in the manifestation across the glass frontage to the exhibition space.
The exhibition toured to the Teylers Museum (Haarlem) and the Museum of Science and Industry (Manchester).
